During the fourth quarter of 2021, the top five food delivery applications on the iOS platform in Portugal demonstrated diverse trends in weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at their performance, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Glovo: Food Delivery and more witnessed fluctuating weekly downloads, starting at around 3.4K in late September and peaking at 5.5K in the last week of December. Active users showed a dynamic trend, starting at approximately 46K and peaking at nearly 60K in early December before settling at around 48K by the end of the quarter.

Uber Eats: Food Delivery maintained a steady download rate throughout the quarter, starting at about 3.1K and reaching a high of 5K in the final week of December. Active users remained robust, with a slight dip mid-quarter but ending strong at around 206K.

Bolt Food showed a consistent increase in weekly downloads, beginning at 2K and rising to over 3.7K by mid-December. Active users followed a similar upward trend, starting at approximately 14.9K and reaching 19.6K in mid-December, before slightly decreasing to 18.2K at the end of the quarter.

getir: groceries, food&beyond experienced a significant rise in downloads, particularly from mid-October onwards, starting at around 60 and peaking at 2.8K in early December. Active users also increased markedly, starting at 178 and climbing to over 7.3K by the end of December.

Too Good To Go: End Food Waste saw a varied trend in downloads, with numbers peaking at 2K in mid-October and gradually declining to 632 by the end of December. Active users mirrored this trend, starting at 37.8K, peaking at 41.6K in mid-October, and ending the quarter at approximately 30.3K.
